Oily Tuesdays in May - Still Life

Oily Tuesdays is a semi regular oil painting short course for adults. Every month we change the theme of the course to keep expanding our knowledge of this seductive medium. In the past we have explored landscape, portrait, abstract, and we are now back where we started with still life. This short course is lead by expert teacher, and owner of Primary Colours Art School, Andrew Lang. Andrew has been working in the arts for over thirty years and has taught in schools for over twenty. In this short course we will explore colour mixing, composition, perspective and proportion, paint mediums, and other important ingredients in the oil painting process. There will be elements of drawing but no previous experience with painting in necessary to participate in this course. At the end of the three weeks you will have completed an oil painting ready for hanging on a professionally stretched canvas. All materials and equipment are supplied, as is a snack and full access to the kitchen to make a cuppa. Alcohol is permitted but needs to be supplied on a BYO basis. Oil painting is a mindful process and requires patience. It takes time and slows the world down for a while. What better way to spend a few hours at the beginning of the working week.
