Abstract Art: 5-10 year olds

Abstract Art seems like the easiest type of Art, right? It's messy, random, and requires no actual skill. Wrong. Abstract Art is not necessarily any of those things and can be very challenging to create. As abstract Art is so subjective it engages a critical part of our brain. It can be tricky as you need to satisfy yourself through colour, lines, shapes and form. And even harder is getting an emotional response from the viewer. In this workshop we will explore this mysterious Art style and hopefully create something we all can love. All Primary Colours' holiday workshops are run fully resourced and professionally planned. They are facilitated by Andrew Lang, the owner of Primary Colours Art School with over twenty five years teaching experience. The price includes all materials, use of equipment and the space, and a healthy snack. It is recommended that participants wear clothes that are not precious or favourites. Ideally drink bottles and snacks are not brought by kids as they can clutter the space and sometimes get forgotten. As mentioned above, a snack is provided and participants will have access to fresh cool drinking water. Please arrive five to ten minutes before the scheduled starting time to avoid delay. Primary Colours does not condone or tolerate any form of abusive or anti-social behaviour. If a participant is behaving in a way that affects the enjoyment of other people in the group they will be removed from the creative space immediately and expected to wait while their carer is contacted to escort them home.
