Oily Tuesdays in November: Portraits

Oily Tuesdays is back and we are returning to portrait painting this November. This time around we will use the Zorn palette to create our paintings. The Zorn palette is a limited colour palette named after Swedish artist Anders Zorn, of only four colours: yellow ochre, ivory black, vermilion, and white. The benefits of using this limited palette are: it helps us focus on tonal values, aids in colour mixing practise, and creates colour harmony and balance. We used this palette recently during the acrylic painting workshop with great success and feel it is worth exploring further. Since portraits can be very personal it is recommended that you provide your own reference photo if you are attending the workshop. generic and celebrity images can be supplied if this is not possible. The workshop is guided by Primary Colours founder, Andrew lang, an experienced educator and artist. The cost includes all materials and the use of studio equipment, including access to the kitchen. Protective clothing is supplied and a light snack (lollies have been very popular) is also included. I hope you can join us.
