Service Description

We are taking a break from oil painting in October to have some fun with acrylic paints. In this four week workshop we'll cover four popular areas of painting: still life, portrait, landscape, and abstract. Each week we will focus on a different subject, and you get to complete an original painting of your own. The workshop will introduce new concepts to beginners and develop skills in more experienced painters. We will explore colour mixing and matching, composition, perspective and scale, as well as brush control and technique. Traditionally the Oily Tuesdays (oil painting group) have been quite social and jovial affairs. It's a time to unwind and reward yourself while spending time with a bunch of like minded individuals. You also get to learn a little, play a lot, and walk away with some original artworks of your own creation. Sounds great, right!? It is. The course is $200 for the four weeks. This price includes all materials (four stretched canvases and Matisse structure paints) and the use of the studio's equipment. There will also be light snacks provided and full use of the kitchen for tea and refreshments. A bathroom is on site and protective aprons are supplied. Primary Colours founder Andrew Lang will be running this course. Andrew has over twenty years teaching experience and has worked in the arts for even longer. I hope you can join us.
